The Town of Bassendean is partnering with West Australian Music (WAM) to create this free, family-friendly event, as part of WA’s biggest and best original music showcase. Alongside awesome musicians, Bassendean’s WAMFest Live Sunday – Bassendean will offer a range of entertainments for the kids and a selection of delicious gourmet food vans for those of you wanting to truly kick back and relax.
From 2pm to 6pm you will enjoy laid-back electronic pop by Ah Trees; funk-soul songstress Ruby May and her 7-piece band; the solo beat-boxing virtuoso Sam Perry; and the very popular 8-piece party-starters The Brow. This exciting line-up was specially selected by WAM and Town of Bassendean from the shortlist of over 300 acts submitting to showcase in WA’s largest celebration of original music.
The free activities for the kids will include fun and creativity with the team from creative reuse centre REmida; have-a-go at a circus with Circus Challenge, and more.
Getting there – walk, ride, drive: Patrons can park their bikes safely in securely in our Bike Valet, plus everyone who rides to the event receives a free bottle water and prize. WAMFEST REGIONAL SHOWCASE
It was almost a decade ago that WAMFest (or the WAMis, as the festival was called then) last seriously spread the love out in the regions. With the skyrocketing popularity of WAM’s projects such as ‘Sounds Of’ compilation recording series and Regional Touring Circuits in recent years, we’re excited to announce WAMFest presented by Drug Aware is expanding to celebrate some of the incredible local talent found in regional WA the week before the metro festivities kick off.
To top it off, 21 regional acts - representing Peel, Great Southern, Wheatbelt, Kimberely and South West regions – will be showcased to metro audiences, with the WAMFest Live Closing Party / Regional Showcase helping close WAMFest on Sunday 5 November with a free, four-stage party held between The Railway Hotel and the Swan Hotel.
