Welcome to WAMCon 2017! We’re excited to have you onboard this year and below is an overview of this year’s WAMFest, how to contact us and if you’re visiting, additional details on your accommodation and the Northbridge precinct where much of the festival fun will be happening.

Opening Party & Kiss My Camera Launch

The Bird, Northbridge

7pm - Late

The #WAMFest Opening Party is the first metro-based event to let your hair down in a huge state-wide program. The night will include performances by some of WA’s hottest music acts PLUS The Kiss My Camera award winners being announced by WAM CEO, Mike Harris. More details here.




Gate One Theatre, Claremont Showgrounds

7pm – 11pm

Held at Perth's live music and multi-purpose venue, Gate One Theatre at Claremont Showgrounds, this year's coveted WAMis will be announced during an evening peppered with performances from some of WA's most exciting artists. More details here.

Bus to the awards departing the State Theatre Centre at 6:40pm, returning from Gate One Theatre at 11:30pm. Note that RSVP to admin@wam.org.au is required prior to the day.

Registrations open 8:45am-9:45am, sessions 9:45am-4:30pm

WAMCon has earned a stellar reputation for both educational excellence and A+ good times, and with this year’s conference serving up the biggest contingent of national and international speakers in its history, it’s sure to be the best one yet! More details here.



12:30pm - 1:30pm

A BURGERIFIC way to meet all of the bookers involved in this year's conference, pop around the corner for a free burger lunch with tunes provided by Akioka at the Pica Bar courtyard.

QuayNote Boat Party 

Barrack St Jetty, Perth

5:30pm – 7:30pm

Ahoy! One of the most popular networking opportunities at WAMFest, with  food and beverages provided, plus a special performance from Boat Show and a DJ set from Captain Caitlin Nienaber (RTRFM), you don’t wanna miss the boat that ROCKS!

A series of focused live music showcases presented in conjunction with, and carefully curated by, WA’s best promoters, organisations and venues. More details here.




The State Theatre Centre of WA

Registrations open 10-11am, sessions 11am-4pm

The second and final day of WAMCon 2017, the event ends at 4pm, where the majority of showcases start.

WAMFest Live

12pm  - Late

WAMFest is the peak annual showcase and celebration of original WA contemporary music, capturing both fans' and the industry's imagination, and featuring an epic selection of 180+ acts, this year’s WAMFest will once again prove to be WA’s biggest and most diverse celebration of live, original, homegrown music. Various venues around Perth (and regionally)

Closing out WAMFest for 2017,  head along to a multitude of Free showcases around Perth and WA including Bassendean and Highgate. Plus celebrate live music and finish off the weekend with a Regional Showcase Closing Party and WAMFest After Party. More details about all these events here.

If you have accommodation at the Alex Hotel, situated next to the WAM office, here is some handy information:

Check in: Anytime from 2pm, but their reception is open 24 hours a day so don't worry if you're arriving late.

Check out: Officially it’s 12 midday, but they are flexible if you need to organise a later time.

Location: They are located at 50 James Street, Perth (next to the WAM Office). Click here for directions on how to get there and where it is.

Bar and Restaurant: Check out their bar and restaurant Shadow Wine Bar and Dining Room which is open Monday to Friday noon to late during the week and 8am to late on the weekends, when their decadent brunch menu is available until 2pm. While you are always welcome to just have a drink and nibble, they highly recommend booking in advance for lunch and dinner. Simply let them know and they will arrange a table for you.

Hotel Facilities: Click here for all information on the hotel’s relaxing communal living spaces, including the Lobby Espresso & Lounge, Mezzanine Lounge, Mezzanine Breakfast Bar (for free morning breakfast) and the Roof Terrace. If you want to explore the city by bike they also have free easy riding Lekker Bikes for hire!
