37 A+ TRACKS TO DISCOVER, HIGHLIGHTING THE STRENGTH & DIVERSITY OF WEST AUSTRALIAN MUSIC

Coinciding with this week’s WAMFest presented by Drug Aware, and one of the most distinctive and diverse music compilations in the country, WAM’s annual Kiss My WAMi CD compiles an exemplary selection of A-grade tracks released by West Australian artists over the past year.

Indicative of the quality of tunes, Kiss My WAMi 2017 features 12 WAMAwards-nominated acts and 31 acts playing WAMFest 2017 events, making it the perfect taste tester for the feast of acts being served up at what’s become one of the world’s biggest locals-only music festival!

This year’s strong diversity sees the CD cover everything from searing punk to Indigenous indie rock, glitchy electronic, rollicking garage and dreamy pop, not to mention hard rock, experimental, regional, hip hop, country, folk, dance, rock, pop and much more.

Furthermore, the CDs boasts 10 acts that are both a) nominated for WAMAwards and are b) playing WAMFest events, with Sydnee Carter, FOAM, Rag N’ Bone, BOAT SHOW and Beni Bjah playing Live Saturday; Carla Geneve, Stella Donnelly and John Bennett with David Hyams playing over multiple events; FEELS and Daniel Susnjar Afro-Peruvian Jazz Group playing the sold out Opening and WAMAwards Parties respectively.

Distributed to national radio, media and music lovers to highlight the incredible array of musical talent in WA, hard copies of the two-disc set are also available free to WAM Members and WAMCon ticket holders and many of the tracks also available for free streaming from WAM’s Soundcloud – soundcloud.com/musicwa.
