They say ‘great men choose to let their lives be governed by their passion, rather than fall powerless at the mercy of their circumstances’. This tenacious spirit of dedication has been the lifeblood of success for every artist since the dawn of music’s history.

T$oko formerly known as S.O.X, is no different; this highly acclaimed story teller speaks volumes every time he steps up to the mic. Any mic. Driven by the need to share his story and to rock the crowd in the process, T$oko is an emcee with wisdom and understanding beyond his years. This coupled with empathy for his audience and a respect for what they hear and feel, make him an artist worthy of every fine music connoisseur’s attention.

Growing up in Harare, Zimbabwe was never destined to be easy. But the ‘easy’ things in life very rarely shape us or pre-determine our successes. T$oko - the emcee, the artist, the song writer, the story teller, the trail blazer – chose to walk the path less travelled and refused to abandon his first love – music.

Every great artist needs a creative influence or inspiration. T$oko was schooled in those early days in his African classroom – not just on reading, writing and arithmetic, but tutored in the foundations of musical prowess.

The Zimbabwe-born, WA-based artist dropped his debut track ‘Blasphemy/Mirror’ in early 2017 which speaks volumes for the rapper on the rise. T$oko backed it up with the double release of ‘Fourth Quarter’ and ‘Hakuna Matata’ (which was added to rotation at triple j).

The, WA based rapper took out the Triple J Unearthed Laneway Festival comp, performing alongside the likes of Anderson Paak, Mac DeMarco, The Internet and more. In March he jumped on stage to support the likes of Wale, Metro Boomin, Tyga ,Madentyo and Lil Wayne on the Jumanji festival dates in Melbourne and Sydney. T$oko was also named one of the Triple J Unearthed artists to watch out for 2018 and starting five independent rappers in Australia right now. T$oko will also be featured on the latest single from 1 Australia’s largest EDM producers Just A Gent. With an EP and more singles to come, 2018 is shaping up to be T$oko’s breakout year. Catch T$oko live at Big Sound festival on the 4th & 5th of September.
